ADR Hazard Class Placards

ADR hazard class placards are standardized diamond-shaped signs used to communicate the primary hazard associated with the transported substance. Explosives, gases, flammable liquids, oxidizers, toxic, radioactive, corrosive and other classes use different symbols and color fields, so visually similar placards are not interchangeable.

ADR Hazard Class Placards

Artwork accuracy matters: symbol geometry, class number, color field and print layout should be reproduced from the correct reference. This is particularly important for subclasses and special markings such as Class 9A, where generic icons or AI-generated substitutes should not be used.

Reflite supplies hazard placards as physical products, but the class or subclass required on a vehicle depends on the official classification of the cargo. Confirm the class information and the required sign format from the transport documentation before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common technical questions about product selection, surfaces and application.

What do ADR hazard class placards indicate?

Diamond-shaped placards communicate the hazard class of the carried substance using a standard symbol and class number.

Can Class 3 and Class 8 placards be used together?

That can only be determined from the actual cargo and ADR requirements. Placards should never be combined simply because they look relevant.

Why must the placard artwork be exact?

ADR pictograms are standardized safety markings. Symbol, color, class number and proportions should be verified from correct technical artwork.
